An excerpt form Kristina's essay
"My Passion for Dance"

When I’m dancing everything feels right. I seem to think more clearly. I think that I really started loving and needing dance the first year I did Starz company. I did a dance with Katy Reeves, and some other equally talented dancers. It was amazing to see the way they could dance and how happy they always were to be there. I wanted to be just like Katy. She was good at everything and every time she danced you could tell there was nothing she loved more. Now I know exactly how she felt. I think that I also started to love dance that year because I was able to perform on a stage in a different sense than just at recital. The rush I get from performing still gets to me. Now I cannot wait until competition season each year because I get to perform a lot. It’s my favorite time of year. There are times, especially if I’m a little down, that I am not able to sleep. So, I get up and I dance. I put my ipod on shuffle and I simply dance it out. It really helps clear my mind, puts a big smile on my face, and warms my heart.
